Manifesto

Frontback is a cloud you can hold in your head. You write a TypeScript function and save it. It is live, on a URL, on infrastructure built and run in Europe. No servers, no config, no pipeline. That is the product.

Why we are building it

Europe runs on rented infrastructure. Three American companies operate about seventy percent of the European cloud, and the share held by European providers has been shrinking for a decade. That arrangement was always uncomfortable. Lately it has become untenable: jurisdiction follows ownership, not geography, so data in a Frankfurt region of an American cloud is one court order away from leaving Europe, whatever the brochure says about sovereignty.

We do not think the answer is a European clone of a two-hundred-service catalog, and we do not think it is another consortium. The answer is a cloud good enough that choosing Europe stops being a sacrifice. Sovereignty has to arrive as a side effect of picking the best tool, not as a tax you pay to satisfy a checklist.

What we believe

The distance between writing software and running it is overhead, and overhead can go. A file you save should be code that runs, in production, seconds later. Most of what sits between you and that today, the provisioning, the pipelines, the YAML, exists for the provider's convenience, not yours.

A small surface beats a big catalog. A platform you can learn in an afternoon and document completely is a platform you can trust. Where your data lives is part of that trust: a property of the architecture and of who owns the company running it, guaranteed by design rather than promised in an addendum.

And the cloud should be boring. Predictable bills, no egress ambush, no surprise deprecations. Excitement belongs in your product, not in your invoice. Whoever does the work gets the same first-class treatment, whether that is you in a console or your agents talking to us over MCP.

What we are promising

Frontback stays independent, built and operated on the continent. The surface stays small enough to document completely. Your data stays in Europe because the system cannot put it anywhere else. And if we ever make you choose between convenience and sovereignty, we have failed at the one thing this company exists to do.
